Viktor Gyokeres Mulls Over Manchester United Move Amid Arsenal Negotiation Roadblocks
July 11, 2025
Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly reconsidering an offer from Manchester United after his transfer negotiations with Arsenal hit a snag.
Manchester United's door seems to be reopening for Viktor Gyokeres, the Swedish striker, who has reportedly reconsidered his future plans. Previously, he had dismissed the Red Devils' interest three times, showing no inclination to reunite with his ex-Sporting boss Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford. Gyokeres initially preferred a transfer to Arsenal, where discussions were underway, but an agreement couldn't be reached due to the Gunners' hesitance to meet Sporting's £69 million ($93m) valuation. Missing from pre-season training, it's clear Gyokeres is eager to transit to the Premier League. Reports suggest he may rekindle negotiations with United, giving them a 'second glance', especially since Amorim is on the hunt for a reliable No.9. While Arsenal remains a possibility, other clubs like Atletico Madrid and Juventus have also shown interest in Gyokeres. All these clubs could give him the chance to play European football, an opportunity United lacks in the 2025-26 season.
