In a thrilling encounter, Dortmund managed to secure a narrow 2-1 victory over Monterrey, courtesy of Serhou Guirassy's fine performance. Guirassy's two goals in the first half laid the foundation for Dortmund's win, despite a spirited response from Monterrey in the second half. German Berterame scored for Monterrey early in the second half, keeping the pressure on Dortmund till the very end. However, Dortmund's defense stood strong, denying Monterrey the equalizer they desperately sought. Unfortunately for the Bellingham family, Dortmund's Jobe Bellingham will miss the upcoming clash against his elder brother Jude's Real Madrid due to a yellow card suspension. The match against Real Madrid is set to take place in New Jersey this Saturday. Despite the tight scoreline, Dortmund could have increased their lead with Guirassy missing a couple of clear chances. Monterrey, on the other hand, kept Dortmund on their toes with their attacking play, particularly from Jesus Corona. The Mexican club, however, couldn't find the equalizer they were hunting for, leaving Dortmund to advance to the next stage. Looking ahead, Dortmund will need to step up their game as they prepare to face 15-times European champions Real Madrid.
